Respite & Crisis Care

Our Program Vision:

To expand the definition of "Respite" and develop Respite and Crisis Care services that addresses the diverse yet unique needs of caregivers of Illinois Communities. We'll serve as a resource and create systemic supports to care for those who care for others while strengthening, and stabilizing families allowing them to be healthy emotionally, physically, psychologically, and financially while they continue to nurture and care for our most precious jewels.

Who We Serve:

Families with children, kinship caregivers, substitute care agencies in need of Respite or Crisis care services or respite referrals. We know what is meant by "I need a break now!"

What is Respite?

Respite is a temporary break, short-term care for families in crisis. Those who would benefit are foster/adoptive parents, kinship/grandparent caregivers, families with special needs, post-partum moms, children caring for elderly parents or just families needing a break. In most cases respite is planned. However due to unforeseen emergencies the service becomes crisis care. Respite helps to prevent out of home placements, abuse and neglect.

Unlike daycare, this family preservation service can include overnight stays for extended periods without interruptions of the child’s daily routine.

Time for a Break?
